A couple of weeks ago my family and I spent a day at the Memphis Zoo. If you are in the Mid-South or plan to visit the Mid-South and the zoo is not on your list, you should change your list. The zoo was great. The day was hot, but even the heat didn't squelch our fun. The grounds were well kept, the flowers were in bloom and well groomed. And the animal habitats were very nice. We especially liked the Northwest Passage and the polar bears. They were busy swimming laps and playing with a big log. Plus it was nice and cool in the underground observation room.
My wife took the cactus picture during our zoo visit. All four of us took lots of pictures of these particular cacti, but my wife's was the best one of the bunch. All together, I think we took over 400 pictures that day. We plan to go back to the zoo in October, when the temperature is a little milder.
